The Role
What you will do as a Fashion Buyer
- Support the Buying Team and contribute to the decisions on the product range
- When required, present garments to senior management and follow up on action points for the team/department
- Look further ahead than immediate problems to focus on ideas and solutions that may be of longer‑term benefit to profitability
- Keep team informed and up to date on key issues
- Anticipate and resolve problems with deliveries and continue to build stable long‑term relationships with suppliers
- Travel regularly to meet with suppliers and attend fashion shows
Desired Skills And Experience
- Understanding of fashion trends and knowledge of the High Street, bringing new, well‑thought‑out ideas to contribute to the buying process
- Strong fashion eye is essential
- Good problem‑solving skills and ability to take initiative to resolve issues
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
- Capability to take responsibility and make decisions
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Manage time effectively by setting and achieving priorities and timescales
- Experience using Microsoft Office package
