About Us

Founded more than 15 years ago and headquartered in Chicago, the DV Group of financial services firms has grown to more than 450 people operating throughout North America and in Europe. Since spinning out of a large brokerage firm in 2016, DV Trading has rapidly scaled as an independent proprietary trading firm utilizing its own capital, trading strategies, and risk management methodologies to provide liquidity to worldwide financial markets and hedging opportunities to commodity producers and users. Now, DV group affiliates include two broker dealers, a cryptocurrency market making firm, and a bourgeoning investment adviser.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with senior traders to learn about proprietary methodologies and trading systems
  • Real-time risk management in the form of trade entry and risk layoffs
  • Build, maintain, and improve trading models
  • Enhance existing strategies and identify new opportunities
  • Liaise between the trading desk, internal teams, and OTC relationships
  • Additional responsibilities may be driven by the individual's interests and skills

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Master's or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, graduating by Summer 2026
  • Strong foundation in math, probability, and statistics
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and perform in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Ability to maintain composure and communicate clearly under pressure
  • High level of proficiency in Excel and VBA
  • Experience with SQL, statistical modeling, Python, or other programming experience is preferred
  • Exceptional problem-solving ability and multitasking skills
