Vehicle Engine Fitter – Duxvalves

We are seeking a Vehicle Engine Fitter to join the busy team at Duxvalves. The role involves fitting, assembling, repairing, and maintaining Mercedes engines in cars and light commercial vehicles.

Compensation: £40,000 per annum (DOE)

Responsibilities

  • Install, assemble and fit vehicle engines and related components.
  • Diagnose engine faults using manual inspection and diagnostic equipment.
  • Repair or replace defective parts such as pistons, bearings, valves, gaskets, and fuel systems.
  • Adjust engine components for optimal performance.
  • Follow technical diagrams and manufacturer specifications.
  • Test engines after fitting to ensure proper operation.
  • Maintain workshop tools and equipment in good condition.
  • Keep records of work performed, parts used, and time taken.
  • Comply with safety and environmental regulations.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a vehicle engine fitter, mechanic, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of petrol, diesel, and/or hybrid engines.
  • Ability to use mechanical tools, diagnostic equipment, and measuring instruments.
  • Understanding of engine systems, fuel injection, cooling, and lubrication systems.
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
  • Physical stamina and attention to detail.
