Responsibilities
- Design products from concept through to production release to a given specification, agreed timescales and to company Quality Management System (QMS).
- Work within a multi-disciplined development team environment and use initiative to achieve the project requirements.
- Create electrical schematic layout designs.
- Generate detailed technical documentation (drawings, BOMs, manuals, etc.).
- Generate comprehensive component specifications and designs.
- Reduce product costs by re‑designing existing products.
- Assist production/service engineers when requested.
- Collaborate fully with production engineering on new product launch.
- Design testing criteria.
- Produce ECNs for design updates or changes.
Qualifications
- Minimum HNC qualification in an Electrical Engineering discipline.
- Proven electrical design experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Competent to read and interpret electrical drawings/schematics and produce design calculations.
- Willingness to work hands‑on to assist fault‑finding on electrical systems.
- Knowledge of Electrical Design Software; ability to create/edit schematics and produce BOMs.
- Understanding of PLC systems.
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Highly motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
