Our client in Nelson is looking for an experienced Press Brake Operator on a permanent basis. The client is a well‑respected manufacturer and requires experience on Amada or Trumpf press brakes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operating and setting press brakes (Trumpf)
- Reading, interpreting, and working from engineering drawings
- Responsible for operating machinery used to bend and shape metal sheets into various forms requiring high precision and accuracy
- Identify and solve problems before folding operations commence
- Identify any order shortages before folding operations commence and inform the Leading Hand
- Suggest improvements to the production process and procedure to maintain the highest standards of quality for both external customers and internal companies
- Monitor the safe use of all machines and tooling within the folding section and report any machine issues, breakdowns, tooling damage or any other issues likely to impact productivity or the safety of team members to the leading hand
About You:
- Time‑served Press Brake Operator with a minimum of 3 years experience
- Proven experience operating and setting press brakes (Trumpf or Amada)
- Confident reading, interpreting, and working from engineering drawings
- Skilled in working to tight tolerances; accurate bending and folding of sheet metal
