Mechanical Industrial Gearbox Fitter
Location: Huddersfield – Permanent, Full-time, Day Shift

About the role
Our client based in Huddersfield is looking for a Mechanical Industrial Gearbox Fitter with experience fitting gearboxes ranging from 150 kg to 10 tonnes. You will be responsible for the strip down, inspection, rebuild and testing of Helical, Worm, Bevel Helical and Spur gearboxes.
Responsibilities
- Strip down, inspect, rebuild and test a range of gearboxes.
- Carry out tests and work from technical drawings.
- Service and repair clients\’ equipment, from heavy plant machinery to general mechanical work.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Work across a range of industries, adapting to each job’s unique requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Gearbox fitting experience.
- Strong mechanical background with ability to read drawings and work to tight tolerances.
- Proactive, safety‑conscious approach to work.
- Driving licence preferred.
