We’re looking for an ACCA qualified account Accountant to lead the finance function at the European HQ of this global business. You’ll need to be highly accurate, with an eye for the details and a fantastic communicator. With operations spanning the UK and Europe, and a dynamic multicultural team in Newcastle, this is a brilliant opportunity to take ownership of the finance function and help shape the next phase of growth.
You’ll be the go-to person for all things finance – reporting directly to the Director and liaising with the team at the China HQ.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations
* Prepare monthly management accounts, VAT returns, corporate tax filings, and financial forecasts
* Coordinate with external auditors and accountants, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
* Monitor intercompany transactions and maintain compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards
* Support budgeting processes, resolve financial queries, and collaborate across departments and with China HQ to ensure global reporting alignment
What You’ll Bring:
* Proven experience in SME senior finance role, ideally within an international business
* Strong understanding of management accounting and cashflow control
* Strong knowledge of SAP and Xero and along with Office software, especially Excel.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
* Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
* Ability to adapt quickly and solve problems with initiative
* High attention to detail, reliability, and discretion in handling sensitive information
* Strong organisational skills with a proactive approach to tasks
