Technical Sales Manager – Engineering Solutions | Midlands | Big Deals | Real Growth

You’re a sales engineer at heart. You know how engineering works, you know how buyers think, and you’re happiest when you’re out winning business, not stuck behind a desk.

This is a hands-on technical sales role with a well-established SME that’s ready to grow fast over the next 3–5 years — and they want someone local who can help drive it.

If you live within roughly 50 miles of Rugby (CV22) and you’ve sold bespoke engineering solutions (not catalogue products), this one’s for you.

The Role (No corporate fluff)

  • 70% new business / 30% account management
  • Selling high-value, bespoke mechanical / engineering solutions
  • Deal sizes typically £30k – £200k
  • Customers across manufacturing, automotive, construction & engineering
  • Field-based, Midlands-focused, with Warwickshire HQ
  • You’ll own the full sales cycle: win it, grow it, develop it

This is about revenue generation, smart prospecting, and then turning new wins into long-term, profitable accounts.

What’s on Offer:

  • Up to £65,000 basic
  • Company car or car allowance + fuel card
  • Uncapped bonus & commission

(£20,000 OTE on all revenue)

  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Clear progression — build a team OR stay senior and earn
  • Start date: Feb or March 2026

No nonsense. High trust. Real autonomy.

Who This Will Suit

You’ll probably tick most of these:

  • 5+ years selling technical / engineering solutions in the UK
  • Comfortable selling into manufacturing, automotive or construction
  • Strong new business hunter mentality, but happy growing accounts too
  • Used to field sales and managing your own patch
  • Can talk confidently about:
  • Who you sell to
  • What problems you solve
  • Where you’ve won business before
  • Engineering or mechanical qualification is a nice bonus, not essential.

Most importantly — you’re:

  • Down to earth
  • Commercially sharp
  • Self-motivated
  • Comfortable dealing with engineers, buyers and decision-makers.

Why This Role?

This is a stable, established business with a strong reputation — not a start-up, not corporate red tape. You’ll be trusted to get on with the job and genuinely shape your future:

  • Build and lead a team, or
  • Stay as a senior BDM / key account specialist

Your call.

Brilliant Midlands-based technical sales opportunity for an ambitious sales engineer who wants freedom, progression and serious earning potential.
