Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) are currently recruiting for Industrial Electricians for a permanent position based in Barrow-Upon-Humber. Immediate start available (subject to interview process). Salary is £48,000 per annum (depending on experience).
Your duties in this role may include:
- Driving on site
- Working at height and/or in confined spaces
- Operating/driving plant
- Manual handling
- Lone working
- Night work
Experience:
- Experience of maintaining plant and machinery in a heavy industrial environment e.g. mining, quarrying, process or manufacturing
- A strong understanding of Control systems & PLCs
- Excellent fault-finding skills
- Able to work at heights
- Demonstrate commitment to maintaining Health and Safety standards
- Must be capable of working effectively under pressure in a critical busy environment
- Understand permit to work systems and accident reporting
- Understand and demonstrate commitment to safety policies and procedures
- Time served Electrician
- Qualified to a minimum Level 3 Apprentice
- Must hold full UK driving licence
You will play a key role in keeping vital port operations running safely and efficiently. You will work both independently and alongside skilled colleagues to maintain plant, machinery and systems that support the smooth loading and discharging of vessels. Every day brings variety, from planned maintenance to responding quickly to unexpected equipment issues, all while championing a strong safety culture and following established site procedures.
In this hands-on role, you will take ownership of your workload, accurately complete maintenance records, and keep the Engineering Manager informed to help keep operations on track. You will isolate equipment safely, identify material needs, suggest tactical improvements, and build strong relationships with the Operations Team. If you are proactive, multi-skilled, and ready to make an impact in a fast-moving environment, this role puts you right at the heart of the action.
