Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) are recruiting for a Quality Assurance Technician for a permanent position based with our client in York. Immediate start available (subject to interview process). Salary is £30,000 per annum and upwards depending on experience. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual with experience within engineering, production, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, or a strong mechanical background. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established engineering business and play a key role in maintaining and improving product quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Control & Assurance
- Carry out final quality inspections on machines before they leave the factory
- Inspect paint finish and overall cosmetic appearance
- Complete visual weld inspections
- Conduct torque checks on fasteners
- Verify hydraulic and electrical systems
- Ensure all correct options and components are fitted
- Perform functional testing and geometry checks
- Sign off completed machines for stock or identify any rectification work required to meet quality standards
- Monitor and track build quality and production trends
- Highlight recurring issues and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate records for internal audits and quality reviews
- Ensure compliance with ISO9001 standards and internal quality procedures
- Assist with the administration and processing of warranty claims
- Work closely with the parts and dealer support teams
- Assess warranty claims for technical validity and identify root causes and corrective actions
- Support investigations into machine or component failures, both in-house and in the field
- Work alongside engineering, production, and suppliers to identify root causes
- Help implement corrective and preventative actions to improve reliability and build quality
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, Sales, Parts, and Service departments
- Act as a key link between factory quality, aftersales, and dealer support teams
Skills & Experience Required:
- Hands-on experience within engineering, manufacturing, or service environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and assembly instructions
- Good mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
