- We are looking for a Plater for a permanent position based with our client in Chesterfield
- Immediate start available (Subject to interview process)
- Rate of pay is 17.94 per hour for basic hours
- Working hours are Monday to Thursday 6am - 4.30pm (4 day working week)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Fabrication and development on bespoke steel fabrications in a heavy engineering environment. Ie Bridges, staircases, gantries. (Road & Rail)
- Using varying workshop tools, plant and machinery.
- Working from engineering drawings & specifications.
- Expert level of building parts/assemblies to engineering drawings.
- Welding to a high quality.
- Measuring and marking out plate and sections for cutting, shaping and drilling.
- Adherence to all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience needed
- Confident plater or fabricator
- Ideally apprentice trained or relevant qualifications
- Confident MIG Welder
- Experience operating fabrication machinery
- Must have worked within a heavy steel industry
- Confident working from engineering drawings from scratch
NVQ Level 3 or City and Guilds in Fabrication and Welding or Plating would be expected.
