Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) are currently recruiting for a Welding Supervisor for a permanent position based with our client in Rotherham. Immediate start available (subject to interview process). Rate of pay is £18.50 per hour. This will be working 40 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 7am till 4pm and Friday 7am till 1pm.

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Welding Supervisor to oversee our clients welding operations on major structural steel, infrastructure, Defence and Rail projects. The successful candidate will ensure all welding activities comply with BS EN ISO 3834, BS EN 1090, and project specific requirements while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily welding activities in the workshop, no site work required.
  • Ensure all welding work meets UK standards and project specifications.
  • Conduct visual inspections and monitor welders.
  • Review fabrication drawings, WPS, and weld maps.
  • Maintain welding documentation, record traceability logs.
  • Liaise with QA/QC teams and third party NDT inspectors.
  • Assist with apprentices learning and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Support continuous improvement in welding quality and productivity.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Welding Supervisor on UK structural steel or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of MIG/MAG welding processes.
