Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) are recruiting for a Lead Hand Pipefitter/Hydro Technician for a permanent position with our client in Sunderland.
Immediate start available (subject to interview process).
Salary is £38,500 per annum (depending on experience).
This role will be predominantly based in our client's Sunderland Workshop Monday to Friday, but travel to worksites both offshore, UK and internationally may be required as part of your contracted hours, either as an individual or as part of a team.
The job also requires weekend availability (at overtime rate) for both workshop and onsite working.
Candidates with experience:
- Pipefitting
- Small Bore Tubing
Responsibilities include:
- Mechanical assembly and installation.
- Maintaining our client's fleet of equipment and servicing it, including workshop/in-situ equipment and flushing units.
- Available to work overtime and weekends when required.
- Good communication skills and understanding of Health & Safety requirements through the industry.
- A full UK driving licence is required.
- Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
- Comfortable working outside in all weather conditions when required.
- Professional attitude.
- Supervision of workshop staff and ensuring daily/weekly tasks are completed.
- Understanding of flushing and pressure testing preferred.
- Assisting with the building of units/installation of correct piping techniques and different connection types.
- Ability to read, understand and produce technical drawings and piping schematics, as well as being proficient in site surveys to develop piping drawings and B.O.M's to support project estimations.
- Working on-site either in the UK, abroad or offshore depending upon the requirements.
- Weekend working may be required at times, both in the workshop and onsite.
- Forklift truck licence would be advantageous, but can be provided through training.
Background/Qualifications:
- Ability to manage time, work efficiently under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to communicate well with all customer types and levels, from workshop to corporate.
- Working knowledge of standard office software applications - Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience within the oil and gas/energy industry preferred.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems would be advantageous.
- Excellent time management and organisation skills with the ability to prioritise.
- Positive attitude to learn, develop and progress within a large global organisation.
- Previous experience of running a team/projects.
- Willing to take responsibility for workshop staff and their daily tasks while maintaining good communication with office personnel over planning.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Offshore BOSIET & Medical.
- SBT Experience / Pipefitting.
- Knowledge of hydraulics beneficial.
- Previous experience of being a supervisor or leading a team.
