Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for experienced Manual Vertical Borer Setter/Operators and Manual Horizontal Borer Setter/Operators to join their established engineering team in the Manchester area. Immediate start available (subject to interview process).

Salary is £38,480 per annum (depending on experience).

Manual Vertical Borer Setter/Operator

The successful candidate will:

  • Set and operate manual vertical boring machines.
  • Work from customer-issued engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Machine medium to heavy workpieces to tight tolerances.
  • Carry out self-inspection to ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Be willing to work overtime when required.
Essential Requirements:
  • Previous experience setting and operating manual vertical boring machines or a strong manual turning background.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience producing high-quality machined components.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
Manual Horizontal Borer Setter/Operator

The successful candidate will:

  • Set and operate manual horizontal boring machines.
  • Work from customer-issued engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Machine medium to heavy workpieces to required tolerances.
  • Carry out self-inspection of completed work.
  • Be willing to work overtime when required.
Essential Requirements:
  • Previous experience setting and operating manual horizontal boring machines or a strong manual milling background.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Excellent machining and inspection skills.
  • A commitment to producing work to the highest standards.
