Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) are recruiting for a Lead Mechanical Fitter for a permanent position based with our client in Hull. Immediate start available (Subject to interview process). Salary is £52,000 per annum (depending on experience). This will be working Monday to Friday - 6:30am till 4:30pm (with occasional weekends in line with operations).

Expectations:

  • Effective collaboration with operations, electrical and EHS teams to ensure alignment and efficiency.
  • Oversee maintenance strategies for bulk handling equipment inclusive of cranes, belt conveyors, chain conveyors, bucket elevators, hoppers, silos, dust collectors and related components.
  • Drive reliability improvements using root cause analysis.
  • Ensure minimal downtime through effective preventative and predictive maintenance programs while attending breakdowns promptly.
  • Flexibility to respond to operational priorities, including occasional out of hours support.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Strong mechanical skills and knowledge of bulk material handling systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks.
  • Basic IT literacy (SAP, MS Office).
  • Comfortable working at height and within confined spaces.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum level 3 NVQ or city and guilds in mechanical engineering.
  • UK driving licence + Use of own car.
  • Relevant industry training (Health and Safety, manual handling, working at height, confined space, first aid at work) - Desirable.
