Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) are currently recruiting for a permanent position based with our client in Hull. Immediate start available (subject to interview process). Salary Circa £50,000 per annum (depending on skills and experience).
Responsibilities:
- Role will be client facing throughout the project.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to the project team, evaluating project requirements and design specifications.
- Working with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and professionals involved in the project.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Responsible for the specification and procurement of various equipment packages and their successful integration into a full steam cycle power generation plant.
- Working with process engineers to develop equipment datasheets for procurement purposes.
- Attendance and participation in HAZID and HAZOP meetings.
- Estimate project costs, prepare budgets, and monitor expenses to ensure projects stay within budget.
- Manage contract specialist engineering such as pressure vessel calculations, structural calculations, noise studies, and flow modelling.
- Identify potential risks and challenges and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure necessary equipment, materials, and services.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including technical reports, project updates, and change orders in line with client and in-house procedures.
- Communicate project status, milestones, and challenges to stakeholders through progress reports and meetings.
Key Skills and Experience Required:
- Fundamental understanding and practical experience working with steam raising and/or process plant.
- The ability to read and understand Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- The ability to read and understand Heat and Mass Balances.
- The ability to prepare equipment datasheets and undertake procurement activities for balance of plant equipment including pumps, valves, and pressure vessels.
- Practical experience project managing the installation of process plant such as boilers, steam turbines, process piping, water treatment, and heat exchangers.
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of engineering principles.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and time management skills both internally and client facing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of Waste Heat Recovery Offshore Oil and Gas is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of ASME Code, BS 5500, API560, NORSOK is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Hydraulics and Electrical control systems is advantageous.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or HNC/ONC or similar and multiple years experience in a similar role.
