Permanent position based with our client in Hull. Immediate start available (subject to interview process). Salary circa £50,000 per annum (depending on skills and experience).
Responsibilities
- Client facing throughout the project.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to the project team, evaluating project requirements and design specifications.
- Work with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and other professionals involved in the project.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Specify and procure various equipment packages and integrate them into a full steam cycle power generation plant.
- Collaborate with process engineers to develop equipment datasheets for procurement purposes.
- Attend and participate in HAZID and HAZOP meetings.
- Estimate project costs, prepare budgets, and monitor expenses to keep projects within budget.
- Manage contract specialist engineering such as pressure vessel calculations, structural calculations, noise studies, and flow modeling.
- Identify potential risks and challenges and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure necessary equipment, materials, and services.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including technical reports, project updates, and change orders in line with client and in‑house procedures.
- Communicate project status, milestones, and challenges to stakeholders through progress reports and meetings.
Key Skills and Experience Required
- Fundamental understanding and practical experience working with steam raising and/or process plant.
- Ability to read and understand Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Ability to read and understand Heat and Mass Balances.
- Ability to prepare equipment datasheets and undertake procurement activities for "balance of plant" equipment including pumps, valves, and pressure vessels.
- Practical experience project managing the installation of process plant such as boilers, steam turbines, process piping, water treatment, and heat exchangers.
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of engineering principles.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and time‑management skills; both internally and client facing.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Knowledge of Waste Heat Recovery Offshore Oil and Gas is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of ASME Code, BS 5500, API 560, NORSOK is advantageous.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and electrical control systems is advantageous.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project.
