Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) are currently recruiting for a Fettler for a permanent position based with our client in Sheffield. Immediate start available (Subject to interview). This will be working days, afternoons, and nights.
Rate of pay:
- £14.50 when working days plus shift allowance of 16.6% - total £16.91
- £14.50 when working afternoons plus shift allowance of 25% - total £18.13
- £14.50 when working nights plus shift allowance of 33% - total £19.29 per hour
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- To Fettle/Excavate castings to the Quality Standard required by customer.
- To be as cost effective and efficient as possible.
- To work to our clients Health & Safety Work Rules.
- To be able to use both Hi Cycles and air grinding tools; training will be given in the event of no experience in this field.
- To Fettle castings to profile and excavate casting defects in preparation for welding.
- To remove any defects and fettle to profile.
- To work safely within the workplace.
- To be competent in driving overhead cranes; training will be given to the right candidate if required.
- To work closely with other members of Fettling/Welding/Inspection teams.
- To work to provided production plans laid out by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Previous Fettling Experience.
- Manual Handling experience.
- Abrasive Wheel experience.
- Slinging experience.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement.
- Basic understanding of quality issues.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety within the workplace.
