Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) are currently recruiting for a Fabrication Engineer on behalf of our client based in St Helens. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced fabrication professional looking to join a well-established and growing business. Immediate start available (subject to interview process). Salary is £40,000 to £55,000 per annum (depending on experience).
Key Responsibilities
- Drawing & Technical Capability
- Confidently read and interpret engineering drawings
- Create fabrication drawings
- Work from client specifications and produce shop-ready drawings
- Understand tolerances, weld symbols, and surface finishes
Software Skills
- Competent in relevant engineering and drawing software packages
Hands-on Fabrication Knowledge
- Welding processes
- Cutting, drilling and forming techniques
- Assembly methods
- Jigging and sequencing of work
BS EN 1090 & Compliance Knowledge
- Material traceability requirements
- Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
The Successful Candidate Will Be Able To:
- Clearly explain drawings and technical information to workshop staff
- Identify potential issues early and communicate practical solutions
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Manage workload effectively and maintain high standards of quality
