Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) are recruiting for a permanent position based with our client in Chesterfield. Immediate start available (subject to interview process). Rate of pay is £17.00 per hour for basic hours. Working hours are Monday to Thursday 6am - 4.30pm (4 day working week).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fabrication and development on bespoke steel fabrications in a heavy engineering environment, e.g. bridges, staircases, gantries (road & rail).
- Using varying workshop tools, plant and machinery.
- Working from engineering drawings & specifications.
- Expert level of building parts/assemblies to engineering drawings.
- Welding to a high quality.
- Measuring and marking out plate and sections for cutting, shaping and drilling.
- Adherence to all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience needed:
- Confident plater or fabricator.
- Ideally apprentice trained or relevant qualifications.
- Confident MIG welder.
- Experience operating fabrication machinery.
- Must have worked within a heavy steel industry.
- Confident working from engineering drawings from scratch.
- NVQ Level 3 or City and Guilds in Fabrication and Welding or Plating would be expected.
