Dutton Gregory Solicitors is seeking a talented and driven Family Solicitor to take the lead in our Bournemouth office. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and experienced lawyer to shape the future of our family law offering in the region, working independently as the sole family solicitor on site.

We're seeking a skilled and confident lawyer who combines strong technical expertise with a talent for business development – someone who enjoys building lasting relationships, attracting new clients, and actively enhancing the firm's presence in the local community. We would also consider candidates based in Winchester or Liverpool. For a Liverpool-based solicitor, you would act as the sole representative of our family department as we look to grow our presence in the area, so local knowledge of the region and existing client connections would be a strong advantage.

Job Requirements

  • Ideally 5+ years PQE in family law.
  • A confident and self-motivated practitioner able to work independently.
  • Someone with an existing client/referrer following or demonstrable ability to develop one.
  • A commercially-minded solicitor with the drive to develop and grow a caseload.
  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills.

Job Responsibilities

  • Handling a broad range of private family matters including divorce, financial remedies, and children issues.
  • Undertaking your own advocacy, where appropriate.
  • Proactively networking and developing new business opportunities.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients and key local referrers.
  • Growing the department's presence and reputation in Bournemouth.
  • Optionally undertaking family mediation (desirable but not essential).
