We are currently looking for newly qualified or early career Air Quality Consultant to join our growing team. DustScanAQ is a small, independent, employee-owned environmental consultancy firm based in Oxfordshire that specialises in dust and air quality monitoring, consultancy and assessment.
As we’re an employee owned business (EOB), full-time employees also become co-owners, beneficiaries of the DustScan Trust and eligible for equal profit shares. Our consultancy team undertake a range of expert dust, air quality and odour assessments typically for planners, developers, energy and mineral sector clients. A key part of your role will be supporting the delivery of assessments using a range of predictive models. Site work may occasionally be required; this will typically involve undertaking inspections and reviews of site processes, as well as installing air quality monitoring equipment. Our work ranges from one-off assessments to complex on-going expert witness cases. Support work includes assisting in project management, preparing quotes, and management of routine data collection and analysis.
We are currently looking for a new consultant to specifically assist with climate change assessments, dust and air quality impact assessments, ADMS Roads and ADMS point source modelling to support planning applications. Applicants will ideally already have some consultancy experience, but newly qualified candidates will also be considered.
The ideal applicant should have a 2.1 in a relevant Master’s or Bachelor’s degree, such as Environmental Science, Geography or Air Pollution Management, and should have a keen interest in environmental and air quality issues. Prior experience in a consultancy role (inc. placements/internships) is desirable, but full training will be provided.
The successful applicant may be required to assist in other areas of the business as required, such as with dust characterisation analysis and reporting including microscopy. The position is mainly desk/office based in Witney (Oxfordshire, UK), with future potential for hybrid working. You must be prepared to commute to our offices. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK and a full UK driving license is desirable.

Requirements:- A relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (minimum 2:1), such as Environmental Science, Geography, Air Pollution Management etc.
- Prior experience in a consultancy role (e.g. placement/internship) is desirable but not essential; all training will be provided.
- Good command of written and spoken English and have a high standard of technical report writing.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, in particular Word and Excel.
- Preferably experience carrying out complex data routines, using GIS software and an understanding of air quality dispersion modelling using ADMS Roads. Full training will be given.
- Experience in Python or R.
- Experience undertaking site/client-facing work is desirable but not necessary.
- Friendly and courteous telephone manner.
