The Shift Leader is responsible for overseeing the operational activities of the warehouse during a specific shift, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and according to company policies. This role involves managing a team of warehouse team leaders and associates, optimising workflow, handling operational challenges, and ensuring that production targets and quality standards are met. The Shift Manager acts as the point of contact for warehouse staff and works closely with other departments to ensure seamless operations.

  • Shift Operations Management: Oversee all activities within the warehouse during the assigned shift, including receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping. Ensure that warehouse processes are carried out efficiently and in compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards. Monitor and adjust workloads based on staffing levels and order volume, ensuring that resources are used effectively to meet targets. Ensure that all shifts start and end on time and that there is proper handover between shifts.

  • Inventory and Quality Control: Ensure accurate inventory tracking, including the correct storage, picking, and shipping of goods. Conduct periodic inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies as they arise. Maintain high standards of quality control, ensuring that products are stored and handled properly to prevent damage or loss.
  • Staff Development and Training: Provide training and guidance to new and existing employees, ensuring they understand job responsibilities, safety procedures, and company policies.
