Responsibilities
- Service, maintenance, repair, installation and commissioning of specialist machinery and equipment.
- Work on balancing machines that measure and correct unbalance on rotating parts; suitable for rotors from small dentist drills to large power station generators.
- Represent the business on customer sites throughout the UK and Ireland; expect variety, travel and technical challenges.
- Training will be given on equipment locally and at the manufacturing plant in Germany.
Required Skills
- Ideally hold an engineering qualification such as an Apprenticeship or HNC/HND, or equivalent experience.
- Multi-disciplined electro‑mechanical engineer able to work with electrical control systems, pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Experience of service, repair, maintenance and modernisation of equipment in automotive, aerospace or similar manufacturing environments.
- Understanding of dynamic balancing processes and equipment desirable but not essential.
- Fault finding and rectification, problem solving using technical knowledge and experience.
- Experience of drives and PLC control, especially Siemens S7 required.
- Competent in completing site assessments and risk assessments.
- Work in confined spaces with sufficient training.
- Customer relationship management experience and ability to seek out selling opportunities for products and services beneficial.
- Knowledge of UK H&S legislation required; H&S qualification such as IOSH an advantage.
- Good PC skills with MS Office applications; excellent communication skills to liaise with customers at all levels.
- Methodical, accurate, strong communication and problem solving skills; self‑motivated, prioritise and plan workloads and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Flexible approach; able to work independently and within a team.
- Spending majority of time on customer sites around the UK and sometimes overseas; flexible with travel and working time, may work weekends and occasional shifts.
