Durlston School is seeking to appoint an inspiring and enthusiastic Head of Music to lead and further develop a vibrant and central department within our all-through school. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the musical life of the School at a time of continued growth, including the development of our GCSE provision.

The successful candidate will teach Music from Years 5 to 11, including GCSE, and will deliver a rigorous and engaging curriculum that supports strong academic outcomes alongside a lifelong appreciation of music.

Beyond the classroom, the Head of Music will lead a rich co-curricular programme, including choirs, ensembles and performances, and will play a central role in the wider cultural life of the School. The role also includes managing a team of self-employed peripatetic music teachers and working closely with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and high-quality provision across all instrumental lessons.
