Senior Site Reliability Engineer | Remote (EU/UK) | High-Performance Trading
A leading trading firm operating at scale in the digital asset space is hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to help scale, secure, and optimise its global trading infrastructure. This is a remote-first role open to engineers across the UK and EU.
This isn’t just another DevOps job — they’re looking for a tinkerer. Someone who enjoys getting deep into the internals of systems, thrives on debugging tough problems, and constantly looks for ways to make machines run faster, leaner, and more securely.
Role:
- Operate and evolve globally distributed trading systems with extreme uptime and latency requirements
- Collaborate with developers and traders to optimise infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, and deploy production-ready tooling
- Write automation and internal tools for deployment, monitoring, and incident response
- Tune performance across OS, network, and cloud layers — this role is hands-on and detail-oriented
- Improve system resilience, observability, and security in a high-stakes production environment
Requirements:
- Fluent in Linux — not just using it, but understanding how it works under the hood
- Advanced terminal skills — manipulating systems efficiently without relying on abstraction
- Experience working on low-latency, high-throughput infrastructure, ideally in trading or similar real-time environments
- Hands-on with Docker (Kubernetes is a plus), infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD tooling
- Strong scripting and automation experience in Python and Bash
- Familiarity with observability stacks (Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, eBPF)
- Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS/GCP/Azure), with attention to IAM and software supply chain security
- Curious, persistent, and comfortable experimenting at the lowest levels of the stack
