A leading Hedge Fund is looking for an experienced Frontend Engineer to join their Front Office technology team in London. This is a high-impact role, working directly with Portfolio Managers, Quants, and Traders to design and deliver cutting-edge front-end systems that power real-time investment decisions. You’ll be building intuitive, high-performance UIs in React / TypeScript, with a strong focus on data-rich visualisations that bring complex trading strategies and risk models to life. This role offers true ownership of front-end design and delivery, with the opportunity to influence both technology and business decisions at the core of the fund’s operations.
What you’ll do:
- Work closely with Portfolio Managers and Quants to translate trading needs into elegant, performant UIs.
- Design, build, and maintain React / TypeScript applications with real-time data visualisation.
- Own front-end architecture, ensuring scalability and high performance in latency-sensitive environments.
- Collaborate across front office technology, shaping the tools that reduce friction and provide instant insights into strategy, risk, and performance.
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years’ professional UI / Frontend development experience.
- Expertise in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, with exposure to Python a plus.
- Hands-on experience with data visualisation libraries (e.g. D3.js, Highcharts, Plotly, etc.).
- Strong Computer Science fundamentals (Algorithms, Data Structures, System Design).
- Essential: prior experience in a trading, hedge fund, or front office environment.
