The Governors are seeking to appoint 2 highly motivated, committed and experienced Enhanced Teaching Assistants who will play a key role in providing support for pupils with special educational needs. The successful candidates will support the Class Teacher in the teaching and welfare of pupils including administration of medication and leading lessons in the absence of the Class Teacher.
There are 2 posts: 2 x 32.5 hours per week Monday to Friday. Please state on the application form which posts you are applying for.
Person specification:- Has experience in teaching and caring for children with special educational needs
- Demonstrates excellent behaviour management skills
- Is able to work as a part of a team, learning with and from other colleagues
- Enjoys working independently and with initiative
- Is able to work effectively with children either individually and in small groups to enable them to achieve their best
- Is highly organised and has good time management skills
- Is flexible, proactive and resourceful
- Demonstrates good English and Mathematics skills (GCSE Grade 9-4 (old grade A-C) or equivalent/higher)
- Has excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Understands confidentiality and safeguarding procedures

Requirements:Applicants must hold a qualification that meets the approved ‘full and relevant’ criteria for Early Years qualifications and inclusion in staffing ratios. Terms and leave:Term time only plus two additional weeks’ pay is calculated on the basis of the following:
- Number of ‘teaching’ weeks – 38 weeks
- Public (bank) holidays – 1.6 weeks (8 days)
- Two additional weeks, inclusive of CPD – 2 weeks
- Individual leave entitlement - 5.4 weeks (27 days) or 6.4 weeks (32 days)
Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years’ service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years’ service will receive 32 days annual leave.
Calculation examples:
- Less than 5 years’ service: 40 weeks (term time plus 2) + 27 days + 8 days = 47 weeks’ pay, paid in 12 equal monthly instalments
- More than 5 years’ service: 40 weeks (term time plus 2) + 32 days + 8 days = 48 weeks’ pay, paid in 12 equal monthly instalments
