DURHAM UNIVERSITY invites applications for a Research Assistant in Kirigami Mechanics focusing on FEA and reduced-order analytical modelling. The role supports the EPSRC project on Kirigami-Based Energy Dissipating Devices led by Dr Martin Walker.

The successful candidate will develop Abaqus simulations of metallic kirigami, help write research papers, and support student projects. The post is fixed-term to 18 December 2026; in-person and remote work are possible, with UK residence required.
