We are seeking early‑career academics with research and teaching interests in International Relations and Security, including post‑colonial approaches, conflict and violence, transitional justice, and similar areas. Applicants should demonstrate excellence in research and teaching.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a personal development plan with the Head of Department, and review progress regularly.
- Engage in research project leadership and support progression to HEA membership, completing the Leadership in Learning and Teaching course.
- Participate in departmental committees and professional bodies.
- Teach undergraduate/postgraduate modules, develop innovative teaching materials, and design inclusive curriculum.
- Co‑supervise students and provide academic support, assessment, feedback, and disciplinary guidance.
- Produce internationally excellent research outputs and pursue national and international funding opportunities.
- Contribute to the quality of the research environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Within 8 years of completing a PhD in Politics, International Relations or a related field.
- Demonstrated potential to deliver high‑quality research and teaching.
- Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and capacity to foster respectful learning environments.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in collegial/administrative activities or an academic department is desirable.
