T he Role and the Department

Durham University seeks to employ a Food and Beverage Service Head to lead the catering operations at Collingwood College, which houses around 500 students.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and innovative individual with excellent communication skills and extensive high-profile, high volume food service management.

Food & Beverage Service Head

This exciting role requires the highest standard of service delivery, promoting student experience and customer satisfaction. It may appeal to candidates from a variety of catering sectors, including those from within the 4 or 5 star hotel sector, who wish to diversify into an exciting new industry with numerous benefits including generous pension contributions and work-life balance.

This role is a permanent position within the University\'s Operations Directorate, offering flexibility to work any five days within a working week, including some evenings, in alignment with business requirements. The primary responsibility involves overseeing the food and beverage service operations and teams across the College, broadly encompassing banqueting, buffets and the college bar.

Our college bars are developmental spaces and the hub of the college community. They are used by our students as a place to study, work on group projects, and enjoy a broad range of events, both academic related and social. Banqueting and buffets are generally provided to build college community, some are informal, others are formal college dinners that follow the plated banquet service format.
