The Durham University Student Enrichment Directorate are currently looking to recruit a number of sports coaches for the 2022/2023 academic year. Following training and under instruction from supervision:
- Plan, co-ordinate and deliver coaching sessions to student athletes/teams to improve their performance and help them achieve their full potential.
- Evaluate performance and provide suitable feedback.
- Assess strengths and weaknesses in the student athlete's/team's performance and identify areas for further development.
- Encourage participants to gain and develop skills, knowledge and techniques.
- Liaise with the Support Services Manager to co-ordinate support service provision for individual athletes, clubs and teams.
- Ensure that student athletes train and perform in line with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Support student athlete recruitment by meeting with identified prospective students and acting as an ambassador for Durham University Sport.
- Provide sport specific knowledge to support the University in building external, sport specific partnerships.
- Provide sport specific knowledge to assist the University in purchasing equipment.
