Role
Content Creator (Marketing)
Department: Collingwood College
Content creation for online channels and social media to showcase College life and opportunities to students, alumni and the wider community.
Key Responsibilities
- Create new and engaging content about the Collingwood community and share this through the social media channels
- Find engaging and innovative ways to share opportunities and events with current students, especially those that are less established
- Use initiative to showcase Collingwood life and the many success stories
- Be comfortable occasionally appearing in photos or short videos to present content in a personal and engaging way
Relationships and Contacts
The post holder will be directly responsible to the Student Experience Officer. The content creator will liaise with different student groups throughout the college, and at times alumni and the wider Collingwood community.
Person Specification
- An undergraduate or postgraduate of Collingwood College, enrolled on a degree programme for academic year 2025/26
- In-depth working knowledge of common social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X)
- An interest in marketing and communications
- Ability to adapt communication style based on audience
- Ability to take great photos and do basic photo editing (including mobile)
- Basic graphic design skills and ability to create marketing materials (e.g., Canva)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent English language and grammar
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to summarise information for online audiences
- Friendly, professional manner
- Creative problem solving and idea generation
- Understanding of confidentiality requirements
- Reliable, with good time management and enthusiasm for the role
- Able to use own initiative and proactively seek content opportunities
- Experience of marketing activities, resources and facilities for students
- Knowledge of the Collingwood Community (JCR, MCR, SCR)
- Experience of running professional social media accounts
- Comfortable being on camera for photos or short clips
