Role Description
The CAD Technician / 3D Modeller is a full-time, on-site role based at Durham Lifting’s facilities in Middlesbrough. This role involves producing accurate 2D drawings and 3D models for bespoke lifting systems, modular spreader beams, and associated structures using industry-standard CAD software. The individual will interpret engineering sketches and specifications, prepare detailed fabrication and assembly drawings, and update documentation in line with project changes and quality standards. Daily tasks include collaborating with engineers and project managers, supporting design reviews, maintaining drawing registers, and ensuring designs align with relevant standards and statutory compliance requirements. The role may also involve preparing visuals for client proposals, assisting with technical documentation, and coordinating with workshop and testing teams to resolve design queries.
Qualifications
- Ability to provide effective Technical Support for engineering, design, and production teams, including resolving CAD-related queries and assisting with documentation.
- Competence in Computer Maintenance and Troubleshooting to ensure CAD workstations, software, and peripherals operate reliably and efficiently.
- Skills in Computer Repair and Operating Systems sufficient to manage basic hardware/software issues or liaise effectively with IT support.
- Proficiency with CAD and 3D modelling software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) and experience creating fabrication and assembly drawings.
