We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent, full time Support Officer to join our dedicated team within Business Services.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?

You should be an enthusiastic team player who takes pride in providing excellent customer service. You will have good communication skills, be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines and with a high degree of accuracy, be well organised and flexible, have good IT skills and manage changing priorities. You will also need to be able to work unsupervised using your initiative.

Your duties would include:

  • Providing administration assistance to the Environment & Design team
  • Co-ordinating various functions relating to events organised by the service
  • Using ICT systems including requisitions and invoices, GIS, Idox, spreadsheets
  • Total Land Charges searches
  • Document and information maintenance
  • Engaging with customers and members of the public to provide general advice and various other administrative duties.

WHAT WILL I NEED?

Qualified to BTEC National in Public Administration or NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent. Please refer to the attached person specification for the full criteria.

HYBRID WORKING (if applicable)

Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply. This model is pro-rated for part time roles and arrangements are at managers discretion, alternatively you can work all of your contracted hours within the workplace if you prefer.
