We are currently looking for a Motor Vehicle Technician to join our vibrant, fast-paced team in County Durham. Step into a role where your expertise will directly contribute to community safety and operational excellence!

Hours of Work: full time

Motor Vehicle Technician Duties: As a Motor Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of vehicle assets owned and operated by Durham Constabulary. This includes performing high-quality repairs, servicing, MOT work, and minor or major vehicle overhauls. You'll ensure vehicles are safe, reliable, and mission-ready, in line with blue light operational standards. Periodic vehicle conversions and alterations may also be part of your role to meet evolving operational needs.

Motor Vehicle Technician Requirements:

  • City & Guilds level III / 'A' Levels / BTEC National in Motor Vehicle Technology or equivalent (NVQ3)
  • At least 5 years of relevant technical experience
  • Excellent fault diagnosis and repair skills
  • Experience with vehicle servicing, MOTs, and safety inspections
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
