Durham Cathedral is seeking an Executive Assistant to the Dean, who will support the Dean in his complex and demanding role through proactive and high-level executive support.
Role Summary:
The Dean oversees the life and mission of Durham Cathedral, chairs the Chapter (the governing body), acts as Chief Executive (working closely with the Chief Operating Officer/Chapter Clerk), and has spiritual oversight of the Cathedral. The Dean also holds external responsibilities, including trustee roles and civic duties.
The Executive Assistant will support the Dean across spiritual, governance, and executive responsibilities, especially as the Cathedral’s Vision 2033 develops.
This role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the life and mission of Durham Cathedral as it pursues its historic vocation.
Salary: £21,682-£27,877 (based on 0.7-0.9 FTE of a full-time role, FTE £30,975)
Location: Durham Cathedral.
Hours: 0.7-0.9 FTE, Monday to Friday, with flexibility for additional hours as needed.
Closing date: 9am Wednesday 4 June 2025.
Interview date: Friday 13 June 2025 at Durham Cathedral.
