We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in the utilities and water sector to support the commercial management and successful delivery of major infrastructure projects. The role will involve working across a portfolio of clean water and wastewater schemes, including:

  • Rising mains
  • New water main reinforcements and replacements
  • Shaft construction works
  • Storm storage schemes
  • Minor Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of projects from inception through to final account.
  • Prepare, monitor, and control project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
  • Administer subcontractor procurement, payments, variations, and final accounts.
  • Manage change control, compensation events, and contractual notifications.
  • Support project teams in identifying and mitigating commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and operational teams to maximise project performance.
  • Prepare and present accurate commercial reports to senior management.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the utilities/water industry.
  • Experience delivering major clean water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrable experience with rising mains, water main reinforcements and replacements, shaft works, storm storage schemes, and minor M&E installations.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial management, cost control, forecasting, and contract administration.
  • Experience working under NEC contracts.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Degree, HNC, or HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
  • Membership of RICS, or working towards chartership.
  • Experience working on major utility or infrastructure frameworks.
