We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in the utilities and water sector to support the commercial management and successful delivery of major infrastructure projects. The role will involve working across a portfolio of clean water and wastewater schemes, including:
- Rising mains
- New water main reinforcements and replacements
- Shaft construction works
- Storm storage schemes
- Minor Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of projects from inception through to final account.
- Prepare, monitor, and control project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
- Administer subcontractor procurement, payments, variations, and final accounts.
- Manage change control, compensation events, and contractual notifications.
- Support project teams in identifying and mitigating commercial risks and opportunities.
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and operational teams to maximise project performance.
- Prepare and present accurate commercial reports to senior management.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the utilities/water industry.
- Experience delivering major clean water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrable experience with rising mains, water main reinforcements and replacements, shaft works, storm storage schemes, and minor M&E installations.
- Strong knowledge of commercial management, cost control, forecasting, and contract administration.
- Experience working under NEC contracts.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications
- Degree, HNC, or HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
- Membership of RICS, or working towards chartership.
- Experience working on major utility or infrastructure frameworks.
