We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Labourer with experience in excavation and reinstatement, ideally within the water industry, to support works on a Repairs & Maintenance (R&M) contract across Devon. The role involves assisting with the repair, maintenance and installation of water infrastructure, including water pipes, water meters, stop taps and associated fittings, while working safely and efficiently as part of a field‑based team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out general labouring duties on water industry R&M sites
- Assist with excavation activities, including digging, backfilling and trench support
- Support reinstatement works to required standards (footpaths, roads, verges, etc.)
- Assist in the repair, replacement and installation of:
- Water pipes
- Water meters
- Stop taps and valves
Required Experience & Skills:
- Water industry, Utilities, Civils/ Groundworks experience
- Experience in excavation and reinstatement is highly desirable
- Basic understanding of water infrastructure (pipes, meters, stop taps)
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Willingness to travel across Devon
- Strong attitude towards health & safety
Essential Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential if transport provided)
- EUSR card
