We are looking for a reliable and skilled Clean Water Team to carry out lead pipe replacement from the property boundary up to the external stop tap. This team will work on domestic clean-water supply infrastructure, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient upgrades of customer service pipes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Replace lead service pipes from the boundary box/property boundary to the external stop tap.
  • Excavate and expose existing service pipes using safe digging techniques.
  • Install new service pipes (MDPE or specified replacement pipe materials).
  • Ensure correct depth, bedding, and backfill in line with water authority standards.
  • Reconnect the new pipework to the EST and test for leaks and flow rate.
  • Reinstate footpaths, verges, or driveways to a high standard.
  • Complete site setup, including barriers, signage, and traffic management (where required).
  • Maintain a safe working environment and follow all clean-water hygiene procedures.
  • Communicate clearly with customers and supervisors while on site.
  • Record job details accurately, including measurements, materials used, and work completed.

Requirements

  • Experience in clean water service pipe replacement, ideally including lead renewal work.
  • Strong understanding of water regulations and safe working practices.
  • Ability to carry out excavation and reinstatement to specification.
  • Skilled in replacing or upgrading pipework in external domestic environments.
  • Water Hygiene Card (EUSR) preferred.
  • Ability to work as part of a small, efficient two-person team.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.

Preferred Skills & Competencies

  • Confident using hand tools and small plant equipment (e.g., wacker plates, breakers).
  • Knowledge of boundary boxes and EST installations.
  • Experience with moling (optional but beneficial).
  • Good customer communication and problem-solving skills.
