As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a talented and motivated Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer with a passion for working within the water sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage electrical commissioning activities on water treatment plants and related facilities.
- Test and ensure the safe operation of electrical systems, control systems, and instrumentation in line with industry standards.
- Work closely with other engineering teams to integrate electrical and control systems with mechanical, instrumentation, and civil works.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with electrical systems and control equipment during the commissioning process.
- Ensure all commissioning activities are documented according to company procedures and comply with UK regulations and safety standards.
- Prepare detailed reports on system performance and commissioning activities.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery and resolve any electrical-related concerns during commissioning.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety practices in line with industry best practices and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Electrical Commissioning Engineer, ideally within the water, utilities, or industrial sectors.
- A relevant electrical engineering qualification (e.g., HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent).
- Chartered Engineer status (Desirable but not essential).
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, control systems, PLCs, SCADA, and instrumentation used in the water industry.
- Experience with electrical testing and commissioning procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.
Health & Safety: Full understanding of health and safety regulations and practices, particularly in the water industry.
Flexibility: Willingness to travel to project sites across the UK, with occasional overnight stays as required.
