Dunvegan Castle & Gardens is recruiting an Estate Foreman to lead the maintenance and upkeep of buildings across the 41,000 acre MacLeod Estate on the Isle of Skye. This is a senior, hands-on role overseeing a diverse portfolio ranging from the Grade A listed Dunvegan Castle to holiday cottages and heritage properties, within one of Scotland’s most significant historic estates.
The role:
- Leading and managing the estate maintenance team across a wide range of properties.
- Overseeing day-to-day maintenance and planned works across the estate.
- Managing larger winter projects and longer-term maintenance programmes.
- Ensuring buildings are maintained to a high standard, respecting heritage requirements.
- Forward planning workloads, materials, and resources.
- Providing a proactive, efficient, and approachable maintenance service.
- Working calmly and effectively under pressure while solving problems on site.
