We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our small independent team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality medical and surgical care to our loyal clients, ensuring their pets' health and wellbeing. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilize your skills in a supportive and professional independent environment, contributing to the health of our community’s animals.
We are based in a village, so semi-rural location but within easy reach of local towns, Tamworth, Sutton Coldfield, Coleshill, Lichfield. The clinic is purpose built with 2 large consult rooms and a nurses consult station, open plan prep with separate operating theatre. Upstairs we have our on-site laboratory and luxury cat ward. We work up the majority of our cases in-house and will offer hospitalization here on site. We have a network of independent specialists that we choose to refer to when necessary. We know our patients by name and the workload is optimal to give your cases time. We do not do OOH calls but we will care for our own inpatients as the owner (Senior Vet) lives on site.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough examinations and diagnose medical conditions
- Perform surgical procedures, including routine and complex operations, with precision and care - dependent on surgical experience
- Prescribe appropriate treatments, medications, and therapies tailored to individual cases
- Advise pet owners on animal health, nutrition, and preventative care strategies
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all patients
- Collaborate with the team to facilitate diagnostic testing and interpret results effectively
- Assist in emergency cases, providing immediate and effective medical intervention when necessary
- Ensure compliance with all veterinary regulations, safety standards, and ethical practices
Requirements:
- Proven veterinary experience with a desire to work in an independent team
- Relevant veterinary qualifications recognized within the UK
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex medical information clearly to pet owners
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and case management
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with veterinary advancements
