Dunsters Farm is a third-generation family business that's grown into one of the fastest expanding foodservice suppliers in the North West and we're not slowing down.

We supply schools, hospitals, care homes, cafés, and restaurants across the North of England, and behind every delivery is a finance team that keeps the business running accurately and on time.

Following the recent acquisition and integration of another business into the group, we're building a new, centralised finance function at our Bury head office and this Purchase Ledger Clerk role sits right at the heart of it.

You'll have a Purchase Ledger Administrator supporting you day to day, freeing you up to focus on the parts of the role that need real judgement and experience.

  • What You'll Be Doing
  • Owning the day-to-day purchase ledger: invoice processing, supplier queries, payment runs and remittances
  • Matching invoices to goods received notes and resolving discrepancies with the buying team
  • Preparing and maintaining monthly accruals
  • Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register, including additions, disposals and depreciation
  • Directing the day-to-day work of the Purchase Ledger Administrator
  • Working closely with the Sales Ledger and Credit Control team to keep processes consistent and provide cover across the wider finance function

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a Purchase Ledger role
  • Ideally, some exposure to accruals or fixed asset accounting, we can help build this further if you're keen to develop it
  • Good Excel skills- Strong communicator, comfortable liaising with suppliers and colleagues alike
  • Someone who's happy directing the work of a more junior colleague and taking ownership of their corner of the finance function
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • What You'll Get
  • £28,500 to £30,000 salary, depending on experience
  • Enhanced sick pay, rising with length of service — up to 4 weeks full pay after 5 years
  • Life insurance (3x salary, tax-free)
  • Free on-site parking at our Bury head office
  • Staff discount on our product range
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • £500 bonus for referring a friend
