We are looking for a Junior Design and Manufacturing Engineer to join us in our mission of delivering quality outdoor products such as log cabins, garden offices, sheds and gazebos designed with care, built to last, and made to make our customers smile!

As garden building specialists, we’re proud to deliver our products directly to our customers using our very own fleet, ensuring care and quality every step of the way.

The Role: This job is based out of our Bedford HQ – MK41 0LF and seeks to assist with designing products and their respective manufacturing processes for the special projects department.

Role Overview:

  • Working on several ongoing projects, including both designing new products and developing new manufacturing methods and capabilities, including automation equipment.
  • Taking very basic concepts and developing them into full product and manufacturing solutions.
  • Training will be provided on company procedures and methods, CAD/CAM systems, and manufacturing operations.
  • Working and learning alongside a product design and manufacturing project manager.
  • Involvement in the design of new products, CAD deliverables, and end user instructions.
  • Liaising with suppliers and sourcing parts.
  • Creating and adapting manufacturing documentation including CNC programs.
  • Working on exciting new projects.
  • Carrying out all other requests from management on an adhoc or regular basis as required, for example, administration including raising purchase quotes.

Requirements:

  • HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant mechanical design subject, with 1-year professional experience OR BEng or equivalent qualification in a relevant mechanical design subject.
  • Professional or educational experience with Raspberry Pi and Arduino (C++ and Python).
  • 1 year professional or educational CAD experience within a relevant parametric design software environment.
  • 2D drafting experience, creation of technical drawings, dimensioning, tolerancing.
  • Experience of building and making things, can be professional or otherwise.
  • Experience with MS Office or equivalent software, e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook.

What We Offer:

  • £27,000 pay per annum.
  • Monday – Friday 08:30‑17:30.
  • 29 days annual leave including bank holidays.
