Role Description
The Structural Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Pontefract. This role involves preparing accurate technical drawings and models for structural engineering projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial developments. Day-to-day tasks include producing and updating drawings, assisting with steel and supporting engineers with design documentation and revisions. The Structural Technician will collaborate closely with engineers and other project stakeholders, ensure drawings comply with relevant standards, and contribute to efficient project delivery and quality control.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Technical Drawing and Drawing skills for structural and civil engineering projects.
- Candidates should possess foundational knowledge of Structural Engineering to interpret and apply design specifications accurately.
- Candidates should possess skills in Steel Detailing for structural steel components and connections.
- Relevant technical qualification in civil or structural engineering, drafting, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) and familiarity with UK building and structural standards.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to work to deadlines, and effective communication within multidisciplinary teams.
- Previous experience in a consultancy or construction environment is beneficial.
