Key QA Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Supervise the Quality Assurance department on night shift to ensure safe, legal and high-quality products are consistently manufactured
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, legality and quality standards across site operations
- Audit, maintain and challenge HACCP systems and prerequisite programmes
- Carry out internal audits including GMP, hygiene, glass & plastic and quality management systems
- Support and prepare for customer, retailer and third-party audits including BRCGS and IFS standards
- Manage non-conformances, investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with raw material and finished product specifications
- Manage allergen cleaning verification and hygiene performance standards
- Support analytical sampling, product testing and sensory evaluations
- Troubleshoot and verify metal detection systems, calibrations and fail safes
- Investigate customer complaints and implement preventative actions
- Provide technical support, coaching and guidance to production and operations teams
- Ensure all compliance checks are completed accurately and on time
- Proactively drive continuous improvement across quality systems, processes and site standards
- Maintain accurate technical reports, records and quality documentation
- Identify QA team training needs and support development opportunities
- Ensure Health & Safety compliance across the department
Required QA Supervisor Experience:
Essential Experience:
- Previous experience within a QA or Technical role in Food Manufacturing
- Experience supervising or leading teams within a food manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, food safety and quality systems
- Experience supporting customer, retailer and third-party audits
- Knowledge of corrective actions, root cause analysis and non-conformance management
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workloads and prioritise effectively
- Good communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the business
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
- HACCP and/or Food Safety qualifications
- Experience with BRCGS and IFS audits
- Experience working with retailer standards and compliance requirements
- Knowledge of allergen management, hygiene verification and product surveillance systems
- Experience training or coaching production teams on food safety and quality standards
