The Technical Compliance Manager Role

As Technical Compliance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring food safety, quality, and legal compliance across the site\’s operations. You will manage the Quality Management System, lead audits, and act as the site\’s key point of contact for compliance. Working closely with production, NPD, and senior leadership teams, you will help to maintain the highest technical standards while driving continuous improvement and supporting cultural change.

Technical Compliance Manager Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop the site\’s Quality Management System in line with BRCGS, retailer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead preparations for external audits and act as the main site contact for auditors, customers, and governing bodies.
  • Oversee internal audit programmes, manage non-conformances, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across food safety and quality systems.
  • Ensure supplier assurance, document control, and traceability processes are robust and up to date.
  • Support customer complaint investigations and lead root cause analysis.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and training to colleagues across operations to embed a strong food safety culture.

Technical Compliance Manager Requirements

  • Proven technical/compliance experience within the food manufacturing sector.
  • Strong working knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, VACCP, and TACCP standards.
  • Experience leading and managing internal/external audits.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Confident working cross-functionally and influencing teams at all levels.
  • Flexible, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Degree or equivalent in Food Science, Food Technology, or related discipline preferred.
