Key Engineer Responsibilities:

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably through a combination of planned and reactive maintenance activities. Key duties include:

  • Diagnosing equipment faults and restoring production machinery efficiently to minimise downtime
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs
  • Implementing engineering improvements identified through audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensuring all maintenance activities comply with site health & safety, environmental, and hygiene standards
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records, including completed work and spare parts usage
  • Supporting effective spare parts management and stock control processes
  • Working collaboratively with production and engineering teams to maximise plant performance
  • Providing clear handovers between shifts to ensure continuity of work
  • Supervising contractors and ensuring compliance with site procedures and safe systems of work
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping within engineering work areas

Engineer Requirements:

To be successful, you should have:

  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control systems
  • Experience working within high-volume, fast-moving production environments
  • The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
