Key Engineer Responsibilities:
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably through a combination of planned and reactive maintenance activities. Key duties include:
- Diagnosing equipment faults and restoring production machinery efficiently to minimise downtime
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs
- Implementing engineering improvements identified through audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensuring all maintenance activities comply with site health & safety, environmental, and hygiene standards
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records, including completed work and spare parts usage
- Supporting effective spare parts management and stock control processes
- Working collaboratively with production and engineering teams to maximise plant performance
- Providing clear handovers between shifts to ensure continuity of work
- Supervising contractors and ensuring compliance with site procedures and safe systems of work
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping within engineering work areas
Engineer Requirements:

To be successful, you should have:
- A recognised engineering apprenticeship or formal engineering qualification

- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control systems
- Experience working within high-volume, fast-moving production environments

- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
